What Makes People Gain
Weight After Gastric Bypass Surgery
Gastric Bypass surgery seems like a fairly
simple and quick fix for dramatic weight loss. You
see the before and after pictures and hear the
testimonials with patients dropping half
their body weight or more seemingly overnight. The
reality is that many do not look into the procedure

permanent fix for fat. The statistic as of now in
2010 is that 20% of patients regain much of the
weight that they lost after the procedure.

Fen-Phen Users Hit Deadline to Drop Out of
Settlement
Today is the deadline for the 6 million
people who took the fen- phen diet drug
combination--which has been linked to serious heart

settlement with the pill's maker.
The 6,000 fen-phen lawsuits, and the possibility
that the settlement may fall apart, have hurt the
company's ability to find a merger partner, analysts
say. Madison, N.J.-based American Home lost its bid
to buy rival Warner-Lambert Co. in part because
uncertainty surrounding the diet drug litigation
pummeled its stock.
Drugmaker Wyeth wins fen-phen lawsuit

of the banned fen-phen combination. Wyeth's stock
price jumped on the news.
